Our class butterfly

If you haven't heard about our class butterfly, where have you been??  It was very exciting on Wednesday morning, when the butterfly hatched out of its chrysalis.  What a great thing to see!

We have also learned a lot about the life cycle of the butterfly too, we are becoming experts on butterflies!

Mystery Plants....

Our mystery seeds have grown!  They are no longer seeds, but real plants!

It is a race to see which cup will grow the tallest plant, so the plant in the lead is 9 centimetres.

We are busy writing about our plants, stay tuned for our published stories.

Mystery Seeds...

It has been very exciting in room 19 this week... we have started growing seeds in cups of soil.  We don't know what the seeds are, or how long they are going to take to grow, but we are going to watch them with great interest!

Today we talked about the Whakarongo Kid... what does a Whakarongo Kid look like?  Since we are such a great bunch of Whakarongo Kids already it was pretty easy to come up with lots of ideas!

Meet room 19.....

What a great first week... clearly room 19 are a bright bunch!!  We have enjoyed a range of activities this week including art, writing, games and even a chance to play on the senior playground!!

We also brought to school a special item from home to give everyone a chance to learn a bit more about ourselves (even Mrs Davies brought something).  We enjoyed listening to our classmates speak about them, and we will be publishing stories about it soon too.
